Open Mind Zen Center 1612 S. Harvard Ave Tulsa, OK 74112
Open Mind Zen is a unique form of Zen practice based on long-standing methods such as sitting meditation and koan practice, but also incorporating more modern modalities. We believe that the core of Zen Practice is realization and actualization of Awakened Mind in everyday life.
Zen is a true Science of Mind in which the student uses his or her own body and mind as the laboratory to engage in the experiment of spirituality. This science includes working with the mind, body and spirit for a complete experience of freedom and awakening.
Open Mind Zen Tulsa is an affiliate of Open Mind Zen Center, led by Sensei Al Fusho Rapaport of Melbourne, FL. Founded by Ely Kugo DesJardins, Open Mind Zen Tulsa is a community of Buddhist Practitioners in the greater Tulsa area.

Welcome to Your Selves 3/9/12 The Zen Dialogue system is based on the experience of our "self" as a composite of many inner aspects called voices or selves. These selves can either steer us away from our essential nature and true joy and happiness, or can lead us to a deeper experience of our true being.
In this unique workshop we will use the 52 card deck Selves in a Box developed by Tamar Stone to explore and give voice to the various selves that make up our being. This will help bring our denied or repressed selves into conscious awareness, resulting in greater understanding and peace.
Zen Meditation Retreat 3/10-3/11/12 The meditation retreat will start Saturday 3/10 at 8am thru Sunday 12pm. The retreat will consist of traditional zen meditation, interviews with Sensei, breathwork and yoga.
Jukai Ceremony There will be a Jukai(Lay Precepts) Ceremony at the beginning of the Retreat for those that wish to take the precepts. For those interested email Ely Kugo DesJardins, kugo@openmindzentulsa.com ASAP. There are a few things that will need to be done before the March retreat comes.
The Retreat and Jukai Ceremony are offered as a fund raiser for the Zen Center. Everyone is welcome to attend all or part of this event. Space is limited so sign up early online by making a donation or email, kugo@openmindzentulsa.com
